Submitting this post from the IHI forum in Nashville. Great conference, particularly the Key Notes with Don Berwick and John Kitzhaber. Attended sessions on the Medical Home, Clinical Decision Support, Collaborative Model, NQF Safe Practices Adoption, Geeky Trends, Real Time Data. Of the sessions, I enjoyed the Medical Home, Collaborative Model and Geeky Trends the most. Geeky is part of the motivation for getting back onto this blog and trying to make this happen more. As far as the Key Notes go, both speakers spent time on Health Care Reform, especially Kitzhaber. His major point is that the current discussion seems to be focused on finance when the issue should really be on changing the model Most in the audience seemed to agree. It will be interesting to see how this plays out in the coming months.
